2010 In Review -- Portraits and Candids

~My photo gallery~  Christine Anne at Smugmug  ~My photo gallery~

Since my professional photography business is still in its infancy, I don't have a full year of images to look back on.  But I would like to post some of my favorite images from the year, of portraits and candid shots.

I'm grateful to the Lord for pushing me through the door into this photography business!  It has been a privilege and an honor to photograph those who've hired me this year.  I'm humbled that they (you!) esteem my work enough to want me to capture their own families, and children, and events.  Enjoy these images with me as I look back on 2010!

Though this was from 2009, it is one of my favorites!

Baby Girl Candids

~My photo gallery~  Christine Anne at Smugmug  ~My photo gallery~

Ellie, my camera, is amazing.  She helps me out, even when I get her settings wrong.  (And Lightroom is a great piece of software.)  :)

Though my back was--and is--still in quite a bit of pain, I managed to carry Ellie around all day Sunday for our church's afternoon event.  The Caroling Choir spent the day singing Christmas carols in downtown Naperville, and having fun back at the S. house.  Oh, yeah, and they ate a lot of pizza, too.

But that's not the point of this post.  The point is, Chris and Liz showed up later in the afternoon with their daughter Kate, about seven weeks old.  Though I had been upstairs lying down, Ellie led the way right to this beautiful baby, and Liz didn't say a word as I took several shots.  Though I didn't get to hold her at all (a good thing, considering the shape my back is in), I got a few great images of this precious gift from heaven.

Put Your Game Face On!

~My photo gallery~  Christine Anne at Smugmug  ~My photo gallery~

At a Friday Game Night at Lori's house, I became involved in a game that became one of my "laughingest" games ever!  Because this lovely young lady was sitting across from me, I naturally took several photos of her.  She is filled with imagination and expressiveness, and she is one of the funnest (another non-word) people I know.  Enjoy her expressions--all captured during the game.

I'm sure you agree with me that if one spends time with Gabrielle, one will laugh.  A lot.  :)

She Could be My Daughter!

~My photo gallery~  Christine Anne at Smugmug  ~My photo gallery~

Proofs are finalized and photos are chosen!  I wanted to share a glimpse of photos of this young lady who is graduating!!!  You may see the whole album at my SmugMug gallery (click above), and Facebookers can access it, too.

Yes, she could be my daughter.  Joanna has a practical side that resonates with my heart, but she also has a ready smile and, after this photo session, I know I can get her to laugh.

Okay, Joanna, tell me that muffin joke again.  I just don't get it!  (I still don't get it...)

Enjoy the photos!

Taylors, Full of Life

~My photo gallery~  Christine Anne at Smugmug  ~My photo gallery~

The Taylor family have been our friends for many years.  And I have had the privilege and honor of photographing them for a few of those years.  It has been amazing to see their family grow, in number and in size!

Enjoy a few of my favorite photos from their recent photo session.

More About Girls...and Boys!

My photo gallery:  Christine Anne at Smugmug

I just uploaded more photos to my photo gallery above.  I have been blessed to follow this particular family with my camera through the years, so it was a joy to go back through older photos, do some reminiscing, and get the collections uploaded to my new gallery.

Enjoy the quick peek here, and click here if you'd like to see them all.  :)

Dreaming of Little Girls...

The Lord has blessed me with boys, and I love them dearly. They are amazing, full of energy and weirdness and wackiness.  My life is filled with boys!!

So there is a special tug on my heartstrings when I get to photograph little girls.  They are so wonderfully different from boys, and I marvel at their little-girlishness.  :)

Here are a couple of shots from a recent photo shoot of two darling sisters.  Aren't they precious?

Below is my absolute favorite photo from this session.
